Clash in the majority, FdI stops Tajani's citizenship. Third term? FI: "Discussion closed"

Clash in the majority on third mandate and citizenship. Fratelli d'Italia does not want to hear about Antonio Tajani 's proposal on ius scholae. "With the allies we always talk about everything. On the third mandate Forza Italia expresses concerns and reserves the right to verify the merits. On the issue of citizenship we have taken note of their proposal, we do not agree with it, it is not part of the program, we do not believe that we can move forward given the strong consensus of Italians on the current law on citizenship", underlines the group leader of Fratelli d'Italia in the Chamber, Galeazzo Bignami , guest on the program Start of Sky Tg24.
And the third term that is so dear to the League, another government ally? "It is clear that the technical time, if we want to apply it from the next term, is tight. As for the applicability to mayors, these are two different things. Mayors do not have legislative power, legislative assemblies and regional councils do. We are talking about bodies that have a clear gap between legislative and executive power - continues Bignami - Without prejudice to the fact that we are also willing to talk about the issue in the round. It is not an intervention that we are making for a contingency, it is an intervention that if it goes ahead will be made as a system choice also by registering the proposals of the opposition". For the president of the Senate Ignazio La Russa "it is a problem that concerns the parties. The important thing is to discuss it, then the party leaders and the group leaders of the majority and opposition will decide together". On the third mandate, Forza Italia cuts short with Paolo Barelli , president of the deputies: "We have always been available for dialogue and discussion with its allies, especially in the execution of the government program , which also includes promoting the inclusion of regular migrants. The third mandate for the presidents of the regions, however, is not part of the executive's program and, moreover - as the polls show - it finds Italians against it. For this reason, for Forza Italia, today, the discussion on the third mandate is put to an end". Stefano Benigni , deputy and vice secretary of Azzurro, agrees.
Chapter closed, then. But the League has not remained silent. "We note with great regret that Forza Italia does not intend to think about the third mandate, and certainly exchanges with easy citizenship or ius scholae are unacceptable . At this point, we hope that the center-right will choose the best candidates as soon as possible", is the hope expressed by the head of local authorities of the League, Stefano Locatelli .
